It is with great pleasure that we welcome our new team to Statene Park. Sadly we say goodbye to Bianca Helling who has been a brilliant stable manager and great support to me over the last three years. It is a tough job minding the farm while I am away, but Bianca did a fantastic job and kept the place running smoothly in my absence. We wish her all the best in her possible new career as a flight attendant.

Also greatly missed will be my super student Steph Spencer. Steph managed to make the giant step to the ranks of Grand Prix during her time training with me, and with the gorgeous Rambo became the winner of the first ever under 25 Grand Prix, held at the Sydney CDI. We wish her all the very best for her return to Perth but will be very glad to see her back here in July. We were very proud to see her selected to be the Young Rider Ambassador at Equitana. Many will remember how beautifully she rode Mary Stanfield Smiths “Diva Royale” in the master class with Steven Clarke. Steph has shown super talent as a trainer and rider, and it has been extremely rewarding to watch her development over the past two years.
Stepping up to the plate will be my long time student Shanon McKimmie, who now becomes my Chief Rider and Stable Manager. Now 21 , Shannon has trained with me since she was 10 yrs old. In that time she has trained two Grand Prix horses, with the giant but elegant Ambassi nearly ready to make his Grand Prix debut. Shannon has also twice won the Aachen Challenge among her many achievements, and will take a couple of weeks off in June /July to attend Aachen. I will also arrange for her to have some experience in some top German stables while she is there.

We welcome back Cassie De Rue, who has previously been a full time student, and can’t wait to get back with us. She will have to juggle University and training, but with her enthusiasm I am sure she will manage. She has had great success at FEI level with her lovely pony Oscar, and is preparing her KWPN gelding Texas that she bought from me as a youngster for Prix St George.

A young raw talent to also join us will be 18 year old local girl Jessica Graham. From what I can see of Jess she makes up for her inexperience, with talent and enthusiasm, so we really look forward to seeing her develop all her skills during her time at Statene Park.
In July we will be joined by Zoe Farrant from WA. Zoe currently works as a physiotherapist, but wants to further develop her dressage skills. She has been a member of the WA young Rider squad, and brings with her a talented 6 yr old gelding, GB Forte, by Fidermark, which we hope to train through to FEI level
Last but not least we welcome Paul Jones, who has been a brilliant handyman and gardener for the last year, but has now honed his horse skills to assist the girls, by cleaning all the boxes and doing much of the hard manual labour.
This makes up a great team, and we look forward to highly successful 2013.
Thanks to Cyberhorse for running our advertisement. We had an amazing response of high quality applicants, and I am very sorry to those that missed out. I will keep a record of all applicants in case more positions become available.
