Australian racing enthusiasts have marvelled at the history making dynasty that is the legacy of the mare Helsinge.
A modestly priced yearling, Helsinge did not make it to the race track due to injury but has gone on to be the most successful brood mare in Australian history.
Black Caviar's half brother (Redout's Choice/ Helsinge) was the star lot of the Inglis Easter Yearling Sales, which opened in Sydney on Tuesday April 9th, 2013. The colt attracted brisk bidding and was sold to an Australian syndicate for $5,000,000 - a new Australian record.
The same enthusiastic syndicate purchased Black Caviar's half sister last year for the 2012 record of $2,600,000.
The Helsinge dynasty will live on and warms the hearts of fans who love stories of chance and luck. Everyone loves a winner ... and everyone loves Black Caviar.
You can start your own collection of racing champions and enjoy them everyday. The wonderful picture of Black Caviar with trainer Peter Moody admiring the Breyer Black Caviar was taken by Bronwyn Healey.
