Changes to Show Horse Rules
The National Show Horse Rules for 2013 have been released with changes for Show Horse Judges Reaccreditation.
At the recent National Show Horse Committee meeting, a rule change was agreed upon that will affect all Show Horse judges.
As of 1 January 2014, to align with the next reaccreditation period, Show Horse Judges will not be able to use dressage seminars for reaccreditation.
This does not affect the upcoming reaccreditation period - Show Horse Judges are entitled to use dressage seminars for reaccreditation purposes until 1 March 2014. Following this time they must attend an EA Show Horse seminar.
Because this rule change does not come into effect until 1 January 2014 the updated rules do not reflect this change, this amendment will be included in the next round of changes which will be published at the end of 2013.
This rule change will make it mandatory for States to run a minimum of two Show Horse seminars per year to provide opportunity for judges to gain their reaccreditation. Clinics will cover many relevant topics such as paces, risk management, communication, role of officials etc.
